HIV – AIDS Awareness

The fundamental truth is that HIV has infected and affected many of us. The leader of More Care International himself is one of those who are affected by HIV. Today he no longer has some of his siblings, friends, relatives and even church members due to HIV/AIDS.

If a person in the society is not infected he is most probably affected by HIV/ Aids. According to UNAIDS, during 2018, 7 700 000 people were living with HIV. The number of new HIV infections among all people of all ages was 4.94% (HIV incidence). The percentage of adult HIV Prevalence (ages 15-49) was 20.4%.  240 000 new HIV infections, 71 000 AIDS-related deaths, 62% adults on anti-retroviral treatment, 63% children on anti-retroviral treatment.

From this perspective, it is clear that a massive awareness is still vital, hence MCI wants to join others and reach out to people (those who are infected and those who are affected). This is to complement what others are doing on the ground even though we can’t reach everyone infected and affected, the organization wants to impact a sustainable percentage of those in need of help.

Awareness campaigns, Voluntary Counseling and Testing, Home-based Care missions are undertaken by MCI.
